Shipping & Insurance Policy
Shipping and Insurance Policy
Copeland Roberts offers domestic and international shipping for successful auction purchases.
Copeland Roberts acts as the auctioneer and selling agent for vendors/consignors. Copeland Roberts does not own the auction lots offered for sale.
Shipping is arranged as a post-sale service for buyers after an auction lot has been purchased and paid for in full.
Domestic Shipping
Domestic shipping within Australia is charged at a flat rate of $20 AUD per order.
International Shipping
International shipping is charged at a fixed rate of $75 AUD per order.
International buyers are responsible for any import duties, tariffs, taxes, customs charges, or other fees imposed by their country’s authorities. These charges vary depending on the destination country and are not included in the hammer price, buyer’s premium, shipping charge, or insurance charge.
Copeland Roberts does not underdeclare, misdeclare, or alter the declared value or description of goods for international deliveries.
Shipping Insurance
Shipping insurance is automatically applied to all domestic and international orders at 1.5% of the total order value.
A buyer may request to remove shipping insurance from their order. Copeland Roberts is not required to agree to any request to remove shipping insurance and may require insurance, registered delivery, signature on delivery, specialist courier delivery, collection, or another secure delivery method as a condition of dispatch.
If Copeland Roberts agrees to remove shipping insurance, the buyer acknowledges that the shipment may not be covered for loss, damage, missing parcels, or other delivery issues under the applicable postal, courier, or transit insurance arrangements.
Where shipping insurance is removed at the buyer’s request and with Copeland Roberts’ agreement, Copeland Roberts will assist with any available claim process through the relevant postal or courier provider. However, any compensation may be limited to the amount recoverable from that provider.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Copeland Roberts will not be liable beyond any amount recoverable from the postal or courier provider for loss, damage, missing parcels, or other delivery issues that arise after dispatch, where those issues are outside the reasonable control of Copeland Roberts and where shipping insurance was removed at the buyer’s request.
Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights or remedies that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or any other applicable law.
Dispatch
Orders are prepared for dispatch once payment has been received in full.
Due to the high volume of orders following an auction, dispatch may take up to 10 business days from receipt of full payment. Orders are dispatched in order of payment received.
Copeland Roberts will take reasonable care in identifying, packing, addressing, and dispatching paid auction lots.
Once an order has been handed to the relevant postal or courier provider, delivery is carried out by that provider and may be affected by events outside the control of Copeland Roberts.
Lost or Damaged Deliveries
If a parcel is lost, damaged, or otherwise affected during transit, Copeland Roberts will assist the buyer, where reasonable, with any available claim process through the relevant postal or courier provider.
Any claim or recovery may depend on the terms, conditions, limits, and exclusions of the postal or courier provider, and whether shipping insurance was applied to the order.
Where shipping insurance was removed at the buyer’s request and with Copeland Roberts’ agreement, the buyer acknowledges that compensation for loss, damage, missing parcels, or other delivery issues may be unavailable or limited.
Buyer Responsibility
Buyers are responsible for ensuring that all delivery details are correct before paying their invoice.
Copeland Roberts is not responsible for failed delivery attempts, return-to-sender events, customs delays, or additional costs caused by incorrect or incomplete delivery information supplied by the buyer.
If an order is returned to Copeland Roberts due to incorrect delivery information, failed delivery attempts, non-collection, customs refusal, or any other issue outside the control of Copeland Roberts, the buyer may be responsible for any additional postage, handling, storage, customs, or re-delivery costs.
